That Trick To Cook Your 'Perfect' Steak Can Now Be Applied To Ice-Cream And We Are Mind-Blown

You know that trick they teach you in order to cook your steak to your perfect likeness - the one where you put your index finger to your thumb and squeeze your palm to measure the level of firmness the steak requires and then go to your middle finger, and so on - well the team behind Oppo Brothers Ice Cream, the delicious silky smooth ice cream that contains up to 60% less sugar than leading brands, yes, I know.. amazing - have found that you can apply that same hand trick to find the perfect texture for serving ice cream at its optimum yumminess. Entitled the “Squidge Test” and taking over a year to perfect, this technique will be life-changing for our ice-cream game; just in time for Summer.

After conducting a study with over 1,000 participants (erm - where was our invite?!) where a whopping 91% voted that their ideal ice cream texture for maximum snackage was smack bang in-between ‘Squidgy and Soft’ and the chief taste testers at Oppo set to work to find out just how long that takes and how to know you have made it. Because let’s face it - there’s nothing worse than craving a delicious bowl of your favourite ice cream to find you can’t even get your spoon it or it’s morphed into a melted milkshake.

Charlie, Oppo’s inventor found the best way to create the perfect texture is to:

1. take it out of a conventional household freezer and allow to sit for exactly 15minutes, not a second longer - a timer must be used.

2. after 15 minute’s use Oppo’s official ‘Squidge Test’ (which is very similar to our steak hack we have all been using for years, or, just cutting into it and hoping for the best) by following the steps below.

But what are you supposed to do in that 15 minutes instead of lovingly longing for it to hurry up so you can get stuck in. Well - Oppo’s participants in the Squidge Test have listed the top things you can do in 15 minutes.

29% would scroll though Netflix and set up a programme ready to eat with said ice cream, and if you are anything like us, this would probably take around 15 minutes to find something.

27% said they would call friends and family but making sure they’re aware of a time-limit cut-off point. Eek, not sure how that would go down.

and 22% would pour themselves a glass of wine and consume (we think they may be talking about the whole bottle in that timeframe, but the results weren’t clear).

Whatever you do in that 15 minutes, make sure it’s worth it because you will definitely be rewarded with the best prize of all - the perfect serving of delicious ice cream. Now that sounds like a plan to us.
